Tea For Two. . . .

Elisabeth scurried around in the kitchen washing two, long forgotten tea cups while a dozen peanut butter cookies baked. Just as the cookies came out of the oven the tea kettle started to scream.
Mary Ann ran into the room and asked excitedly, "Where's my tea cup?" Elisabeth handed her the tea cup and directed her to the table. As soon as the tea was ready and the cookies were on plates, Elisabeth joined Mary Ann at the table.

Giggles must have echoed throughout the house as the two ladies sipped their tea and talked about many a thing.

As the snow poured down outside the window, two dashing young men came running up from the unknown. After many promises of proper manners, tea for two became tea for four.

The giggles quickly became roars of laughter as Mr. Knightly and Mr. Bingley joined the crew.

Of course no good thing can last for ever, and soon Mr. Bingley started to burp loudly. Everyone knows that you don't burp in front of ladies so, Mr. Knightley escorted Mr. Bingley down the cellar stairs.

Elisabeth and Mary Ann waited, but Mr. Knightley remained in the cellar and did not return.

Pretty soon the tea pot was empty. And tea for two was no more. But the girls were not sad, for they knew that many more days would come when they could have tea again.

Historical note: Although the names have been changed, this story is based on real events that took place in my house this morning.

Please don't forget to make time for tea in your everyday life. The little things makes the day sweeter and help the friendships last longer.

Bible Verse: "But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness. Gentleness and Self-Control against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22 -23

  1. This sounds like an afternoon at our house, and you sound like you're much more tolerant of your younger siblings than I am. TABITHA! ZUZU! GET BACK UPSTAIRS! Ahem, sorry. :) I love this story and appreciate Mr. Knightley's gesture/

  3. I love this post! I'm not sure MY brothers would appreciate having a tea party, though. Then again, if there happened to be cookies, also...
